Ok so I've been thinking about this for sometime now but I think I'm going to go through with it. I love quoting movies and I'm going to start sharing quotes with everyone. The first person to answer what movie the quote is from will win a free download of Abolition Book One. Long time no see

Well it's been a while since I've posted anything to my blog and for that I apologize.

 Well I have some news. Book two in my Abolition Series is finished and I have it available in physical form on most sites like Amazon and Barnes and Noble, so if you enjoy apocalyptic/ science fiction reads, then grab a copy. 

This time around I decided to publish my book in physical form because most people I have talked to would rather have an actual book in their hands verses a digital copy, and I couldn't agree with them more. Maybe in time I'll have book two available in digital format but I'm still exploring this life of self publishing, which is very rough and stressful, especially not seeing many sales. 

Deep down I do it for fun and luckily I'm not doing it for a means of income and survival, but every author wants to see success in their efforts. I feel my writing is maturing and Book Two is like night and day to Book One. I've actually been writing Book Three very feverishly and I'm excited about where the series is going. Also, I plan to have another book released this fall that I'm also very excited about. That book is another genre that I've been exploring as an author. Really I'm just trying to find my niche and so I feel that thriller/ horror is my thing. It's not that I don't enjoy writing apocalyptic or science fiction, but there's just something about thrillers/ horror. I enjoy reading that genre and there's nothing better than a good read that makes you want to piss your pants in fear. My goal is to do the same thing to my readers. I'm a big believer in being a writer of writing material that I would want to read and I think thriller/ horror will allow me to do that.

I've been busy but I got to see Star Wars.

This time around I've decided to self publish my own work. It's been hard work but in the long run I will save myself a lot of money. I'm nearing the end of getting book two completed which I'm very excited about.

Of lately I've been reading in order to gain inspiration for the third book in my Aboliltion series. While I write, and edit, and balance a full time job there's never any time for reading or other hobbies like seeing movies. Although I did see the new Star Wars movie last night. I liked it but I didn't like it, if that makes any sense to you. If you have watched it let me know your take on it. I would love to hear other people's opinions.

Fall time= perfect writing

With summer ending my favorite season comes next. Fall is the best season not only for the weather but for writing. Halloween is one of my favorite holidays as well and with me getting back into writing horror I should have a lot of motivation and inspiration to help me. 

I hope all of you are ready for the change as much as I am. Tell me, what's your favorite thing about fall? The cooler weather, leaves changing, bonfires, or hoodies?

Feedback on fictional writing

When writing fiction, more so fictional fantasy, I find it difficult to create names of cities, countries, etc. Creating names of characters usually comes a little more easier for me. So my question to my fellow writers is. What inspiration or motivation do you use when creating fictional city or country names?

Now do you think giving names to your fictional world is necessary? Sometimes I read books and I feel that the names authors give their worlds, cities, characters, etc just sound lame. It's almost like they didn't put towards any effort in creating their ideas.

I've come to a point in one of my writing projects that names are a absolute must in order for my series to make sense. So for sometime I've been struggling with creating names of countries that are not taken or familiar. But yet I wanted the names to try and resemble the countries they belonged to. 

I believe depending on the type of fictional writing you're doing the names can be crucial, especially in my current project, but I just want feedback. Hearing other peoples motivations and ideas are always helpful. Much appreciated. Cheers. 

Synopsis of my new book that I'm currently working on

For over a decade a small town has been plagued by a serial killer known as the Death Dealer, who has never been caught, and speculation of who the individual is has faded with time.

Now a mimic killer has recently appeared mocking the killings of the Death Dealer. A community is now in panic and desperate for answers.

A young woman named Lilly keeps having nightmares of her own father killing people. With the disappearance of her best friend Alex, Lilly fears that she has befallen to victim of the Death Dealer and so she will do anything to save her. Even if that means speculation her own father of Alex's disappearance. 

Now Lilly must carefully investigate every possible avenue to uncover the truth. Even if the truth opens up a dark past.

Update

So here's the deal. For the past year and a half I have been writing book two in my Abolition Series. Also, while writing this story I have been writing a new story currently titled Lilly. In my blog you can see journal entries from that main character in the story. It's a separate idea I came up with in order to help self promote my new story and to introduce you to a character in that story as well. As of lately my writing time as been cut short with my day job. After work I'm usually exhausted and hungry and go directly for food instead of writing. My evenings are dedicated to writing but there just isn't enough time to accomplish my writing goals.

Why am I telling you this? Mainly I'm doing this for myself. It's kind of a motivational kind of thing I guess, but gives everyone a heads up as well. I hope to have Abolition Book Two available by summer or early fall and I hope to have Lilly in its final editing stages by then as well. I do believe these are extremely high goals for myself but aiming high is a good thing right? I plan to have more journal entries come from Lilly in the next few weeks. In the meantime download Abolition Book One and let me know what you think. I'm really excited of how the series is evolving and book two has been a lot of fun to write and I hope it'll be just as fun to read.
